It is so sad to see our babies go! We have seen these beautiful Trout grow from an egg to a fingerling, and on Earth Day of 2015 they were released into the Peconic. There are pictures of the release attached to this post.
Don't get too upset because we saved about 20 fish, and have them in our tank, where we are continuing to monitor them. These fish are doing well, and are continuing to grow rapidly. The fish in the tank have finally identified themselves as either male, or female. These fish will be released soon, although I would love to keep them forever.
Unfortunately, this is my final post for this 2014-2015 year, but we can look to the future, and know that next year we will be able to raise a whole new family of trout. Thank you to everyone who participated in Longwood Trout, and hope to see you next school year.
